An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 6 Mental Health / Community Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic NHS client in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire. This vacancy is available to start as soon as possible, offering part-time and potential full-time hours per week in a locum role. Essential Occupational therapists applying must have previous experience working with Mental health.
As an OT you will be supported by a full MDT, including Medical Director, Specialty Doctors, Psychologist and Occupational Therapy Assistants; you will also have the support of the wider OT network
Duties will include:
* Care-coordinating
* Attending MDT meetings
* Contribute to the holistic assessment of physical and mental wellbeing needs.
* Assessment and intervention of individual patients needs and progress.
* Treating patients for a range of moderate to complex mental health conditions
* Working with other healthcare professionals
The Successful Candidate should be / have:
* A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
* They need to have experience of working in mental health due to the complex nature of the patients.
* An understanding of Occupational Therapy process / interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
* Excellent communication and time management skills
* Ability to manage highly demanding clinical presentation
* Full vaccination against COVID-19
