Job Title: Driver Trainer Grade: M1
Reports to: Operations Manager Business area: E-comm
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Duties and responsibilities:
· Deliver engaging DCPC training sessions
· Conduct on the road pre-employment, temporary worker, annual, post-accident, return to work and performance failings driver assessments/behavioural interventions in line with Wincanton policies and standards.
· Develop and deliver comprehensive inductions and SSoW trainings for new employees
· Create engaging training materials and presentations to facilitate effective onboarding.
· Travel to outbase sites, as required, to provide on-site support and training.
· Collaborate with site managers and employees to address compliance issues and training needs.
· Maintain accurate records of all training sessions, assessments and compliance activities.
· Analyse data at regular intervals to identify drivers requiring additional support.
· Plan and deliver classroom and practical training sessions for familiarisation of new or in-service equipment.
· Work as part of a team of professionals from all departments to aid compilation of SSoW.
· Providing subject matter expertise for managers and supervisors.
· Ensure driver training requirements are delivered in a timely manner and drivers are safe and compliant.
· Attend relevant courses and carry out personal research and reading to keep up to date with legal, industry, and Company trends and requirements.
Person specification
Experience, skills and attributes:
· Valid Class 1 and Class 2 driving licenses
· Proven experience in compliance management, ideally within logistics industry
· Excellent written & oral communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
· Have a working knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of a trainer in relation to legislation, equality, diversity, inclusivity and meeting the needs of the learners.
· Be able to demonstrate the ability to develop teaching and training material using the appropriate resources to support effective learning.
· IT literate including experience of Microsoft Office packages.
· Be flexible.
· Be able to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
· Planning and training management skills.
· Hold a L3 Award in Education and Training or above (desirable)
· Transport Manager CPC (or equivalent) is desirable
