Job summary
To work as a member of the plain film radiography team responsible for producing high quality diagnostic images within the radiology service. For more information, please see the attached job description.
Main duties of the job
To perform a comprehensive range of radiographic procedures independently, including imaging in the department within the A&E, general and fluoroscopy X-ray departments, as well as external imaging such as in theatre and on the wards. To ensure the safe use of X-ray and associated equipment, and that procedures are carried out according to departmental protocols. To assess each patient and referral to determine the appropriate examination and diagnosis. To communicate effectively with patients and carers of varying abilities, explaining procedures clearly to gain cooperation. To contribute to high standards of patient care and maintain high technical and professional standards. To work within policies and legislation including COSHH, Moving and Handling, Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017, and IR(ME)R 2017. For a full list of duties, see the attached job description.
