We began as a startup called Wombat Invest, and after various rounds of funding, have now successfully been acquired by Quilter plc to provide more investing and savings offerings to their customer base, and help bring new customers on board.We’re currently scaling up fast so we can position ourselves as a leading FinTech product in the market.
🚀What’s the position?
As a Senior Android Developer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of features within our Android application, ensuring high-quality code and scalable solutions.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners and backend developers, to create innovative financial products that deliver value to our customers.
🛠️What are my roles and responsibilities?
1. Develop and maintain features in 100% Kotlin using the MVVM architecture pattern (ViewModels, UseCases, Repositories) with RxJava, Retrofit & Hilt.
2. Create well structured pull requests and provide constructive feedback
3. Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver robust and user-friendly features
4. Advocate for solutions which provide a native Android user experience
5. Work closely with QA teams to identify, troubleshoot and fix bugs, ensuring high-quality releases
🏟️What’s it like working at Quilter Invest?
We’ve always been a small team, but aswe’re currently scaling up, we’llalmost be doubling our development team. That means you’ll be joining a welcoming and close-knit team who have been at the company for many years and joining an expanding team at the same time. We’ll be going from three developers on each mobile platform, to six each. We use Slack within Quilter Invest for fast communication, and Teams to stay in contact with the broader Quilter company. As we’ve always been remote, we make an effort to stay connected to each other, and every now and then we’ll do an optional office day at our headquarters in Bank, London.
About You
6. Extensive Android development experience
7. Proficiency in Kotlin with strong knowledge of Android SDKs and frameworks
8. Experience with RxJava, Retrofit, and Hilt
9. Solid understanding of the MVVM architecture
10. Proven track record of developing and deploying Android apps to Google Play
11. Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for readable, maintainable code
12. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment
