Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a registered adult nurse to join the Hepatology Clinical
Nurse Specialist Team at the Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust. This role will
predominantly focus on delivering a comprehensive Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)
Surveillance Programme for patients with conditions including Cirrhosis/Advanced
Fibrosis/Hepatitis B. The aim of the programme is to establish a centralised surveillance
register, creating an effective call / recall system and implementing support mechanisms to
help eligible patients attend their ultrasound appointments. Success measures will be
recorded in a robust HCC surveillance database.
Additionally, the Hepatology CNS will collaborate with the wider Hepatology CNS Team who
currently operate a five-day ambulatory service, delivering nurse-led assessments for patients
with diverse aetiologies of liver disease. The Hepatology Ambulatory Unit (HAU) is integrally
located within the Hepatology department, serving as a central hub for multidisciplinary
collaboration. The service strives to achieve reducing hospital admissions, reducing inpatient
