Overview
Based on site in Brixworth, Northamptonshire where our highly talented and ambitious team are responsible for the design, manufacture, testing and racing of Formula 1 power units enjoying enormous success with both our partner team Mercedes AMG F1 and customer teams and our pioneering Advanced Technologies team who transfer F1 technologies and know-how into high performance automotive projects and products such as the Mercedes AMG Project One and the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX, our Senior Legal Counsel will be responsible for all legal and compliance matters arising across Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains’ business. This includes providing advice on contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations, government guidelines and legislation and liaison with the wider legal team of the Mercedes-Benz Group and other external parties.
Responsibilities
* Experience gained as Legal Counsel/Senior Associate to Senior Leadership teams and business partnering across all business units of the company
* Extensive experience of drafting and leading of negotiations on all forms of complex commercial/purchasing agreements and contracts
* Experience working across multiple legal disciplines including commercial contracts, regulation environments, governance and compliance
* Experience in managing external counsel relationships including engagement scoping, billing and relationship development
* Previous in-house (or practice) experience in sports, particularly in Motorsport (Regulations) or advanced engineering an advantage
* Resilience, calm when working under pressure (especially within tight timescales)
* Ability to work autonomously

* Excellent attention to detail
Qualifications You’ll Need
* An England & Wales qualified solicitor (or equivalent)
* Minimum of 4 years PQE (or equivalent); in-house or practice
