ROLE SUMMARY:

Senior Architect reports to the Director of Architecture within the Risk Intelligence team. Risk Intelligence is responsible for developing critical services that support anti-money laundering efforts in the financial markets.

We are looking for a solution architect who has the technical expertise and leadership capability to influence technology strategy within the business.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Put together Logical, Physical, Implementation and Process architecture designs where required.
* Support application development teams with governance, privacy, compliance, and risk analysis process.
* Providing senior stakeholders with conceptual ideas of how solutions can be designed, at what cost and high-level timescales.
* Own, champion and oversee key quality of service requirements implementation for availability, recovery, reusability, performance, maintainability, security, capacity, and compatibility.
* Partner with Application and Cloud Architects to produce where required:
* Domain/business logic model design
* Interoperability design such as API and Messaging
* Data model design
* Cloud and on-prem design
* Pair design with Application Architects and technical leads. Develop their design skills so that they become self-reliant.
* Produce proof of concepts that could be handed over to the Application Architects for full-scale development.
* Contribute to architecture communities of practice and architecture councils, lead the development of architectural standards by leading and influencing architecture teams.
* Identifies where technology and partnerships can cause a ground-breaking shift in business and works with key business stakeholders to bring it to realization.
* Recognized internally and externally as an expert on sophisticated technical matters.
* Interprets technical issues for non-technical audiences and vice versa – provides leadership to establish and articulate the vision, strategy and direction of solution architecture based upon business and technical requirements.
* Develops and delivers formal and informal technical training, presentations, and white papers to both internal and external audiences.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* A proven track record of delivering Application and Cloud Solution Architectures.
* Extensive experience selecting and implementing Cloud services using AWS, Azure or GCP.
* In-depth experience using cloud patterns such as multitenancy, sharding priority queue, throttling, sidecar and CAP.
* Understanding of polyglot persistence and hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL solutions such as Document, Column Family and Key-Value.
* Experience implementing Enterprise Integration Patterns.
* Experience with authentication methods such as SAML, OIDC or Auth2.
* Extensive experience designing and implementing solutions for large systems that are scalable, extensible, performant, secure and highly available.
* Experienced in communicating with senior leadership and proven communication skills to work across technical and business teams.
* Experienced in working with vendors.
* Awareness of GDPR, DORA and ISO standards.

THE PERSON:

* Possesses robust analytical skills with the ability to synthesize business requirements with technology capabilities to produce a coherent solution architecture that fits with the rest of the ecosystem.
* Has the ability, under pressure, to rapidly troubleshoot underlying issues and to lead teams to arrive at viable solutions.
* Ability to manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities in a constantly changing environment.
* Ability to operate across organizational boundaries, to influence vendors and technology staff and to have an impact on the internal and external technology community.
* Strong interpersonal skills supported by expressive oral and written communication.
* Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
