Workshop Assistant

Location: Hamilton, Scotland

About Us: CubeWraps are a leading commercial vehicle wrapping company based in Hamilton, Scotland. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Workshop Assistant to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring that vehicles are properly prepared for wrapping and that our workshop runs smoothly and efficiently.

Position Overview: As a Workshop Assistant at CubeWraps, you will play a crucial role in preparing vehicles for the wrapping process, ensuring they are meticulously cleaned, disassembled, and reassembled to the highest standard. Your role will also involve client interactions, vehicle movement within the workshop, and maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment. While prior body shop experience is beneficial, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are key.

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Preparation:

● Thoroughly clean vehicles to ensure they are free of dirt, grease, and contaminants before wrapping.

● Remove vehicle components such as handles, headlights, and mirrors with care to prepare for wrapping.

● Reassemble vehicles post-wrap, ensuring all parts are securely and correctly refitted.

Client Interaction:

● Greet clients with a friendly and confident demeanour, ensuring a positive customer experience.

● Sign vehicles in and out, maintaining accurate records and clear communication with clients about the status of their vehicles.

Vehicle Handling:

● Safely move vehicles around the workshop, requiring a clean driving license and confidence in handling different types of vehicles.

● Ensure vehicles are parked and stored safely and securely within the workshop premises.

Workshop Maintenance:

● Maintain a tidy and organised workspace, regularly cleaning and organising tools, materials, and work areas.

● Monitor stock levels of consumables and tools, reporting when supplies need to be reordered.

Health & Safety:

● Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Teamwork & Flexibility:

● Work effectively as part of a team, following instructions from supervisors and collaborating with colleagues to achieve the best results.

● Be flexible with working hours, including the ability to work overtime when necessary to meet project deadlines. Some Saturday hours will be required.

Skills & Qualifications:

● Body Shop Experience (Beneficial):

● Previous experience in a body shop or similar environment is highly beneficial, particularly experience in vehicle preparation and reassembly.

● Vehicle Handling & Maintenance:

● Clean driving license and confident in manoeuvring various types of vehicles within a workshop setting.

● Basic mechanical skills for removing and reassembling vehicle components.

● Attention to Detail:

● Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring vehicles are perfectly prepared for wrapping and reassembled without any defects or issues.

● People Skills:

● Friendly and confident when interacting with clients, ensuring a positive experience from vehicle drop-off to pick-up.

● Good communication skills, both with clients and within the team.

● Health & Safety Awareness:

● Strong awareness of health and safety practices, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

● Work Ethic & Attitude:

● Presentable, with a professional attitude and a strong work ethic.

● Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions carefully.

● Team Player:

● Ability to work well within a team, contributing to a positive and efficient workplace atmosphere.

● Flexible and willing to work overtime when required to meet project deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £12.21per hour Expected hours: 40 per week

Additional pay: Yearly bonus
