Overview
We are seeking a Sessional Lecturer in Counselling to teach on the Level 4 adult part-time daytime courses (Tuesdays and/or Thursdays), with the potential to contribute to other Counselling programmes. The post is funded for the 2026/27 academic year onwards, so the successful candidate would not be expected to commence before August 2026.
Responsibilities
Teach Counselling on Level 4 adult part-time daytime courses (Tuesdays and/or Thursdays) and contribute to other Counselling programmes as required. Demonstrate effective planning, preparation and management of administrative responsibilities while maintaining professional boundaries. Support, challenge and motivate students and assess both written work and practical skills.
Qualifications and Experience
• Professional qualification in Integrative Relational Counselling or Psychotherapy (minimum Level 6 Diploma or Honours degree).
• Registered member of BACP, UKCP or an equivalent UK professional body, with at least three years’ post-qualification experience and accreditation (or willingness to work towards this).
• Recent experience teaching Counselling at Level 3 or above.
• Teaching qualification required, plus either a supervision qualification or experience providing supervision to individuals or groups within a counselling or life coaching context.
Additional Requirements
You will have strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to plan, prepare and manage administrative responsibilities to meet deadlines while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review in the new academic year.
