This role involves providing outstanding care for looked after children within a residential home. You will be required to have knowledge and experience of: Children's Act, Ofsted regulations, Staff management, compliance and safeguarding in line with Learning disabilities and Social Emotional Mental Health young people The home is currently very settled and has 2 teenage girls and a younger boy living within the service, all have low level learning disabilities and are positively engaging with the service to achieve positive outcomes. Our client is looking for dedicated individuals to provide therapeutic care for young people with Learning disabilities. You will be the eyes and the ears of the service and you will work closely with the team to support Children who have experienced adversity and trauma to move forward in their lives. You'll have extensive experience in residential childcare and managing support workers, carrying out effective supervisions and thriving on their development. With an in-depth knowledge of regulations for children's homes, it's essential you have a minimum of a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent and have or be willing to work towards your Level 5 qualification Job Responsibilities Daily management of a Residential LD service for young people Engaging with children is going to be your key responsibility, setting examples and building excellent rapport to enable independence Leading a team of skilled staff ensuring they are supported and trained to an excellent standard Providing emotional support for both children and staff alike Ensuring wherever possible an excellent relationship with family members and guardians of the young people is considered at all times.
