About the Role:
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Teaching Assistant to join a Secondary School situated in the Vale of Glamorgan. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support pupils’ learning, development, and wellbeing in the classroom. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and making a positive difference in children’s lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils individually and in small groups to access the curriculum
Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
Encourage positive behaviour and promote a safe, inclusive learning environment
Support pupils with additional learning needs (ALN) where appropriate and adapt lessons accordingly if needed
Help with supervision during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activities
We are looking for someone who:
Is patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic about working with children
Has good communication skills, can follow guidance and use their initiative whenever needed
Previous experience working with children (desirable but not essential)
Is reliable, flexible, and committed to supporting pupils’ progress
Understands safeguarding policies and has a commitment to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children
Holds a fully enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
Has the ability to adapt lessons for children with ADHD, learning difficulties, and varied learning needs.
