Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. We deliver essential infrastructure services for life, prioritizing safety, customer focus, and a friendly, respectful environment where you can thrive.
Where will you be working?
At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide end-to-end solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering, and decarbonisation.
This role is within our Metering team, the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, offering efficient services for gas, electricity, and water meters.
Meter readers install, maintain, and manage meters to ensure accurate billing and monitor energy usage patterns.
What will you be doing?
You’ll investigate, detect, and prevent gas and electricity theft in residential and commercial properties. Responsibilities include ensuring safe installations, collaborating with suppliers on further actions, collecting evidence, and providing information to clients.
You’ll also be involved in debt recovery tasks, such as installing SMART meters or de-energising/disconnecting supplies.
If you take pride in customer service, demonstrate professionalism and integrity, and can remain calm in challenging situations, this role is suitable for you. Previous experience as a Revenue Protection Officer or in conflict management is useful but not essential; a positive, proactive, solution-oriented mindset is key. Training will be provided to upskill you into a qualified dual fuel engineer.
What You’ll Bring
* Valid UK driving licence with less than 6 points
* Strong customer service skills with the ability to stay calm in challenging situations
What’s in it for you?
We offer a range of benefits to support your life both in and out of work, including:
* Salary: Non-technical £26,984 p.a.; Single fuel £35,301 p.a.; 3-phase/CT £36,352 p.a. (plus London weighting where applicable)
* Upskilling to dual fuel engineer with full training provided; salaries increase upon qualification
* Matched or contributory pension scheme
* Online GP, Employee Assistance Programme, retail discounts, life assurance, cycle to work, and more
This role also offers company vehicle and fuel card, discretionary bonuses, annual leave, referral rewards, standby/overtime, and call-out allowances.
