We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Behavioural Teaching Assistant to join a specialist Alternative Provision in Leicester, supporting pupils aged 4-16 with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This specialist setting delivers a personalised and engaging curriculum designed to help pupils rebuild confidence, develop resilience, and re-engage with learning in a positive and supportive environment. The successful candidate will work flexibly across different age groups and subject areas, adapting support to meet the individual needs of each learner.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with behavioural and SEMH needs
* Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies and individual support plans
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents/carers to monitor student progress and wellbeing
* Create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment that encourages engagement
* Support students' social and emotional development through positive role modelling and consistent support
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural or SEMH needs
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach when managing challenging situations
* High levels of energy and stamina, with the ability to support active pupils throughout the school day
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential
