As we continue to grow and transform, we're looking for a Cost Controller to join our SP Transmission Commercial & Performance team. This role is key in ensuring our financial processes are accurate, efficient and fully aligned with our governance standards.

What You'll Be Doing

Reporting to the Commercial & Performance Manager, you'll support the full cycle of internal cost control across the SPT business. Working closely with project teams, Finance, and external agency partners, your work will help ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting across over 700 employees and contractors.

In This Role, You Will

Manage and monitor internal time‑writing hours, ensuring timely and accurate updates across SPT teams
Prepare and analyse cost reporting, including detailed variance analysis for senior management
Manage the agency cost payment process, identifying and resolving discrepancies
Produce monthly commercial and governance reports, including scorecards and performance insights
Prepare agency transfer journals in collaboration with the Control team
Support cost forecasting activities and monthly reporting cycles
Review and maintain cost control processes, identifying improvements
Validate inter‑business journals and ensure alignment with governance requirements
Provide training and support to internal teams on cost processes when required

What You'll Bring

You'll be someone who is organised, analytical and confident working with high volumes of financial data. You should have:

A Financial Accounting certificate, HNC or equivalent experience
Strong Excel skills and experience using SAP/NAMS/PM/PPM
A background in a financial or cost‑related role
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
Experience producing clear and accurate reporting
Flexibility, attention to detail and a proactive, target‑driven mindset

What's In It For You

As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy several other benefits. With our pension scheme, we'll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
