Role Purpose
This role is within the Financial Accounting team in Finance, reporting to the Reporting Financial Controller, who manages 6 accountants and 1 graduate trainee. The team ensures the integrity of our Group and Statutory accounts through robust accounting and controls.
* The Financial Accounting team is responsible for:
* Quarterly reporting to Group
* Delivery of enhanced reporting requirements on a quarterly and year-end basis to Group
* Preparation of statutory accounts for Allwyn, our financing, and holding companies
* Managing relationships with external auditors
* Collaborating with Group Finance
* Ensuring financial statements are aligned with IFRS at all times
* Maintaining robust balance sheet governance and managing risks and opportunities
The IFRS Finance Manager will primarily ensure our group and statutory accounts are IFRS compliant. This involves creating an IFRS policies library that reflects Allwyn's operations and aligns with Group policies. A strong knowledge of accounting standards is essential.
This role requires coordination, effective communication, and relationship-building with commercial and procurement teams to understand business operations. This understanding will help ensure Allwyn applies the most appropriate policies and estimates.
Additionally, this role supports the Financial Reporting Manager and Accountant by maintaining effective balance sheet monitoring, risks, opportunities, and controls processes.
Role Responsibilities
* Develop best-in-class, robust accounting policies for Allwyn.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Finance to inform understanding and ensure appropriate accounting standards are applied.
* Communicate any needed changes to accounting estimates, including financial impacts, to senior management.
* Implement a comprehensive balance sheet reporting and monitoring process, including risk and opportunity reporting and policy updates.
* Create a centralized, accessible accounting policies library for finance colleagues.
* Act as the technical expert for all IFRS accounting queries.
* Provide regular updates to senior leaders on policies, changes, and their financial impacts.
* Support the commercial team by tracking and reporting the impacts of policy or estimate changes.
* Oversee the production of accounting memos, provide technical guidance, and liaise with auditors.
* Offer analysis and operational reporting recommendations to Allwyn.
* Ensure a strong control environment and drive continuous process improvements.
* Lead the preparation of annual Financial Statements under IFRS.

* Develop an effective balance sheet policy including monitoring, risks, and sampling.

Key Skills And Experience
* ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or ACT qualification.
* Strong academic background; university and A levels.
* Minimum 5 years PQE, preferably in a similar role.
* Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
* Effective communicator, confident in providing constructive challenge.
* Experience with SAP is desirable.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
* High integrity, independence, and ability to partner with the business.
* Self-motivated and proactive.
