Position: Youth Housing & Tenancy Officer
Location: Coventry
Contract: 12-month fixed term
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
Salary: £13.30 PAYE or £17.23 per hour Umbrella, equivalent to £26,229 - £27,982 per annum (pro rata)
Benefits & Requirements: Enhanced DBS covering Child and Adult workforce, full UK driver’s license and access to a vehicle preferred.
Role Overview
As a Youth Housing & Tenancy Officer, your responsibilities will include supporting young people to sustain their tenancy, manage debts, assist with benefit claims, and maintain their properties. You will also contribute to supervising and supporting a team including Progression Coaches, Housing Management Workers, and others.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enable young people to sustain their tenancy and take responsibility for their property.
2. Assist young people with debt management and signposting to specialist agencies.
3. Support with benefit claims, including completing and submitting forms and making calls.
4. Help young people pay rent and service charges.
5. Empower young people to report repairs and maintain cleanliness of their property.
6. Contribute to the supervision and performance management of team members and volunteers.
Experience & Skills Required
* Previous experience working with young people in Youth Work, Probation, Community Work, or Housing.
* Supporting young people at risk of homelessness.
* At least 2 years’ experience in Tenancy Support.
