Overview
As an Assistant Streetscene Operative you will work as part of a Team to support the effective delivery of day‑to‑day Streetscene maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out a range of Streetscene duties to maintain a clean, safe and green environment throughout the borough.
* Provide exceptional customer service, be equipped at dealing with a range of customers, and be the eyes and ears of the Council when working in the borough.
* Lead by example in supporting the service and actively seek ways of improvement and support with suggestions for new ways of working and embracing change.
* Demonstrate the ability to work flexibly, in line with service demands, working evenings and weekends when required.
* Communicate well with colleagues and members of the public and work as part of a team.
* Operate a range of plant and machinery, including the full range of grass cutting equipment and powered hand tools appropriate to the role.
* Obtain a ROSPA approved playground safety inspection qualification or demonstrate adequate knowledge and experience.
Qualifications & Skills
* Knowledge, skills and experience in an operational Streetscene organisation or similar environment.
* Working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements appropriate to the role.
* Experience with operating a range of plant and machinery including grass cutting equipment & powered hand tools.
* Ability to obtain a ROSPA approved playground safety inspection qualification or to demonstrate adequate knowledge and experience.
