Before sunrise, you’re already baking. You take pride in texture, temperature, and timing. At InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa, we’re hiring a Baker who’s passionate about the craft and capable of delivering both quantity and quality for a luxury resort setting.
Responsibilities
* Bake breads, pastries, cakes, and other goods to established standards
* Operate commercial baking equipment like mixers and ovens
* Follow recipes with attention to consistency and quality
* Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
* Assist with product presentation and display
* Manage baking schedules and inventory of ingredients
* Coordinate with chefs and kitchen staff
* Adapt recipes or techniques as needed for dietary requests
* Maintain cleanliness of baking stations and equipment
Experience and Qualifications
* 2–3 years of professional baking experience (hotel, resort, or commercial kitchen preferred)
* Proficient in baking breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods
* Skilled in operating commercial baking equipment (mixers, ovens, dough tools)
* Strong knowledge of baking techniques, food safety, and hygiene standards
* Able to read and follow recipes accurately with attention to consistency
* Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
* Creative flair and strong sense of product presentation
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Physically fit – able to stand for long hours and lift heavy trays or ingredients
* Flexible to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
* Certification or formal training in Baking or Culinary Arts is a plus
