The Role
As an Engineering Project Manager (Mechanical basis), you will play a key role in delivering capital projects across our N&S operational sites.
You’ll be responsible for:
1. Leading end-to-end project delivery, from concept and design through to commissioning
2. Providing mechanical and electrical engineering expertise to support operational performance and improvements
3. Working within a CDM environment, ensuring the highest standards of health ,safety and compliance
4. Managing project budgets, timelines and resources, ensuring investments deliver expected outcomes
5. Partnering closely with operational teams to deliver practical, value-driven engineering solutions
This is a mobile role, covering sites across North England and Scotland, giving you variety, exposure and real influence across multiple operations.
Key Responsibilities
6. Deliver projects safely, promoting a zero harm / zero incident culture
7. Provide expert mechanical and electrical engineering support across capital projects
8. Build strong relationships with stakeholders, contractors and site teams
9. Apply value engineering and best practice to optimise project outcomes
10. Identify opportunities for cost savings and performance improvements
11. Ensure compliance with all engineering, HSE, and CDM regulations
12. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across regional operations
13. Interpret and challenge technical designs, drawings and specifications (CAD)
What We’re Looking For
14. Strong operational engineering/project experience within an industrial environment or heavy industry, manufacturing, aggregates, asphalt, concrete or similar
15. Qualifications in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering (Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience)
16. Proven project management experience including budgeting and delivery
17. Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and safe project delivery
18. Ability to scope, estimate and deliver complex projects
19. Experience working across multi-disciplinary teams in a multi-site environment
20. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong problem-solving ability
21. Proven financial awareness and commercial astuteness
22. High levels of resilience, adaptability and self-awareness
23. Knowledge of Quarry Regulations (preferred)
