Overview
We\'re looking for an experienced mental health nurse/mental health practitioner to join our team working in HMP Holme House, a medium security men\'s prison in Teesside. This is a rewarding post, where you will practice a full range of psychiatric skills and interventions. The role will include assessments, intervention and coordination of discharge planning, with ongoing needs assessment reflecting individual circumstances and risk.
Responsibilities
* Provide ongoing assessment of needs reflecting individual circumstances, including risk assessment.
* Offer relevant interventions and coordinate discharge planning.
* Operate in a busy, multi-disciplinary environment alongside partner providers from internal and external services.
* Develop and maintain a person-centered approach, prioritising and working flexibly.
* Engage in a comprehensive induction and participate in a wide range of personal, professional and academic training opportunities to expand skills and evidence-based practice.
Requirements / Qualifications
* 18 months post-qualifying experience including sign-off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.
* Experience in compassionate mental health care and understanding of the criminal justice system.
* Strong coordination and planning skills with the ability to base decisions on comprehensive health and risk assessments.
* Innovative, flexible, and capable of engaging with patients with complex needs.
* Commitment to a person-centred approach and ability to prioritise.

We are able to offer sponsorship for a Health and Care Worker or Skilled Worker visa, subject to candidate and position eligibility.
