Transport Operations Manager
Location: Trafford Park Manchester (Hull 2 days each week)
£50,000 + Car Allowance | Full-time | Mon–Fri 07:00–17:00
We’re looking for a driven, hands on Transport Operations Manager to lead our Hull depot within a fast paced operational environment. This role will be operating between both Manchester and Hull depots on a weekly basis.
This is a key leadership role offering real ownership of transport performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
You’ll be responsible for running a safe, efficient and customer-focused transport operation, ensuring full Operator Licence compliance, high vehicle standards, and a motivated, high-performing driver workforce. This role suits someone who enjoys being visible on site, solving problems, and driving standards on the ground.
What you’ll be doing
* Leading day-to-day transport operations to deliver a reliable, cost-effective service in a fast-moving environment
* Acting as the named Transport Manager, ensuring full legal and Operator Licence compliance
* Managing drivers and fleet performance, including training, engagement, and continuous improvement
* Overseeing vehicle roadworthiness, maintenance planning, and supplier relationships
* Championing health, safety and compliance across the operation
What we’re looking for
* Proven experience in a Transport or Logistics management role
* CPC National & International qualification
* Strong working knowledge of transport legislation and driver hours
* Hands-on leader with excellent organisational and communication skills
* Tanker experience desirable but not essential
* IT literate with a full clean driving licence
