About Us

At Rushcliffe Care Group, we pride ourselves on our compassionate approach to care. Our team of professionals is dedicated to creating a nurturing environment for our patients, providing personalised care that meets their individual needs. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, we invest in our staff and facilities to ensure we maintain the highest standards of care and service. As a Clinical Psychologist, you would be working across both Hospital services in Wales, Aberavon Hospital, and Aberdare Hospital.

Aberavon and Aberdare Hospitals provide rehabilitation and recovery for people with complex, severe, and enduring mental health challenges. Referrals are accepted from medium/low secure hospitals, PICU, acute admissions, and the Criminal Justice System. Patients are typically detained under the Mental Health Act 1983. Rushcliffe Aberavon is an 18-bedded locked rehabilitation unit for males aged 18 to 65, while Aberdare is a 10-bedded service.

The Role

As a Clinical Psychologist at Rushcliffe Care Group, you will be instrumental in providing specialised psychological care to our patients. Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments using various methods such as psychometric tests, structured interviews, and observational techniques.
2. Developing, implementing, and monitoring tailored psychological interventions and therapy plans based on evidence-based practices.
3. Providing expert psychological advice and consultation to the multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the overall care plan and patient progress.
4. Leading and supervising assistant psychologists and other healthcare professionals, ensuring that all team members are well-supported and trained.
5. Participating in service development, including policy formulation, audits, and research projects aimed at enhancing the quality of care.
6. Upholding the highest standards of professional practice in line with The British Psychological Society Code of Conduct and the HCPC Standards of Conduct.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

7. A recognised qualification as a Clinical Psychologist with a minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience, including leadership roles within a mental health setting.
8. Significant experience in mental health care, with a deep understanding of the complexities associated with severe and enduring mental health conditions.
9. Competency in using structured professional judgment tools like HCR-20 or RSVP, or a willingness to undergo training in these methods.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in managing sensitive situations and engaging with patients who may be difficult to engage.
11. The ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with a commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to best practice standards.

If you are a compassionate, skilled, and experienced Clinical Psychologist looking for a challenging yet rewarding opportunity, we invite you to apply. Join our team at Rushcliffe Care Group and contribute to the exceptional care we provide to our patients.
