Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Tooling Manager/Supervisor, or CAD Designer based in Crewe. Essentially we have two positions available. The first being a Tooling Manager/Supervisor and the second a CAD Designer. The Manager/Supervisor role entails all aspects of the tooling operation, from design to manufacture. Controlling timelines and delegating workload. As we are a small team, this will involve much "hands-on" activity. Our tooling operation is also responsible for maintaining existing tooling and other engineering projects.
The CAD designer role will involve both component and tool design, and will incorporate the design of purpose-built machinery that we use for our unique moulding processes.
It is possible that the CAD Designer could develop into the Manager/Supervisor role.
For a less experienced candidate, we would offer a full training programme, should they demonstrate the desired level of commitment and enthusiasm.
Desirable Qualifications
* Proficiency in CAD design, drawing interpretation, and 3D modelling software.
* Experience in tooling management, precision engineering, and production optimization.
* Strong project management and team leadership skills.
* Problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities for troubleshooting complex tooling issues.
* Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and quality control standards.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
* Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related fields; advanced certifications are an advantage.
* Familiarity with health and safety regulations in manufacturing environments is beneficial.
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and is negotiable; it will be competitive.
