Art Teacher

* Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (November to Christmas half term, with potential for extension)
We are seeking a qualified Art Teacher to join a vibrant school in Wigan. This full-time, temporary position is available from November to the Christmas half term, with a potential for extension. The ideal candidate will be passionate about art and education, ready to inspire young minds with creativity and innovation.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in art.
* Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
* Instruct students in the use of various art materials and techniques.
* Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and feedback.
* Maintain discipline in accordance with the school's procedures and disciplinary systems.
* Set and mark homework, assignments, and tests, providing detailed feedback to foster student development.
* Participate in departmental meetings, parent meetings, and whole school training events.
* Stay current with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
* Proven experience as an Art Teacher at the secondary education level.
* Strong knowledge of art history and different art genres, and proficiency in various art techniques.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Good organisational and time-management skills.
* Creativity and enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
* Ability to foster a stimulating, inclusive, and challenging learning environment.
