As a Matron, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
1. Provide clinical leadership and management to the registered nurses and care teams.
2. Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.
3. Work closely with partners to maintain a robust, high-quality clinical service for patients.
4. Coach, line manage, and develop clinician staff; support and contribute to audits and governance; contribute to developing and reviewing clinical/non-clinical Local Operating Protocols for the site.
5. Chair and facilitate healthcare meetings with the team and partners, provide clinical supervision (training available), and conduct investigations locally and regionally.
6. Support patient concerns processes, attend and contribute to HMPPS/partnership meetings, oversee local patient engagement, and ensure protocols and standards are followed.

Qualifications include:
* Current professional qualification (NMC)
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
* Desirable: Leadership/management course completed
* Understanding of multidisciplinary and multi-agency working
* Compassionate, non-judgmental approach
* Excellent communication skills
* Line management and student nurse mentorship experience
* Knowledge of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP, and standards
Experience in hospital, community, or prison environment is preferred but not essential.
