Energy Assessor (Remote)
Location: Fully Remote (UK-based)
Salary: £32,000 – £38,000 per annum, depending on experience

Our client, a sustainability-focused consultancy is seeking a skilled Energy Assessor to join its growing remote team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact residential and commercial projects across the UK, delivering compliance and performance-driven energy assessments that support the transition to a low-carbon built environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Carry out energy assessments for new and existing developments using SAP (OCDEA) and SBEM methodologies.
2. Undertake overheating risk assessments in line with Approved Document O, CIBSE TM59, and related frameworks.
3. Provide technical energy compliance advice to clients, architects, and project teams throughout design stages.
4. Deliver accurate Part L compliance reports and planning submission support.
5. Work closely with the sustainability team to align energy performance with broader environmental goals.
6. Keep abreast of evolving energy standards and regulatory changes impacting the UK built environment.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
7. Accredited and active OCDEA qualification with experience using SAP software.
8. Proficiency in SBEM assessments and compliance for non-domestic buildings.
9. Solid understanding of overheating risk analysis, including mitigation strategy development.
10. Up-to-date knowledge of UK Building Regulations, especially Part L and Part O.
11. Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
12. Comfortable working independently in a remote, self-managed setting.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
13. NDEA (Non-Domestic Energy Assessor) qualification.
14. Familiarity with dynamic simulation modelling tools such as IES-VE or DesignBuilder.
15. Experience contributing to sustainability frameworks (e.g. BREEAM or HQM).
16. Understanding of net zero strategies and low-energy building design.
