Overview
We are looking to hire an experienced Deputy Home Manager to join our team in Irvine, supporting and caring for our young people and leading a small staff team to drive the home forward.
Responsibilities
* Support and care for our young people and be responsible for a small team of staff – helping to lead the home into its next stage of development.
* Lead the care and independence programmes for our young people through effective line management of the staff team and managing shift patterns on a rota basis.
Qualifications
* SVQ Level 4 (Children and Young People) as a minimum.
* Resilience: ability to work with vulnerable children with various needs, including emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and related challenges.
* Communication: ability to build positive working relationships and relay important information to staff.
* Organisation: capable of implementing care and independence programmes through effective management of staff.
* Caring: natural care and compassion for the young people.
* Attentive: ability to understand each young person’s needs and identify areas for support.
Requirements
* Full UK driving licence required due to location and transportation needs of the young people. Company vehicles are provided; you will not be required to use your own vehicle.
* Waking night shifts are not standard; there is an on-call rota for coverage.
