An international law firm is looking for a Client Contracts Advisor to join its London office.
This Client Contracts Advisor/Legal Advisor role offers excellent flexibility and is ideal for a candidate with strong experience in reviewing and negotiating client engagement terms.
Key Responsibilities for the Contracts Advisor role:
* Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of client contracts, including:
* Client-drafted terms of engagement (e.g. outside counsel guidelines, panel terms)
* Law firm standard terms of business and engagement letters
* Provide clear, commercial, and risk-based advice to partners and internal stakeholders on contractual terms
* Identify and assess legal, regulatory, and commercial risks within client agreements
* Advise on deviations from standard firm terms and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained
* Collaborate closely with Risk, Compliance, and General Counsel teams on complex contractual issues
* Support the development and maintenance of standard templates, playbooks, and guidance notes
* Stay up to date with regulatory developments and market practice relating to client engagement terms
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in reviewing and negotiating contracts, ideally within a law firm environment.
* Strong understanding of:
* Client engagement terms
* Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs)
* Liability clauses, indemnities, confidentiality, and data protection provisions
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
