AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. This position includes shift work and may require rotation between locations.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as a primary technical resolver for data center infrastructure challenges.
* Work within the Data Center Operations (DCO) team to maintain IT infrastructure and hardware.
* Develop expertise in various hardware and software troubleshooting scenarios.
* Lead resolution of infrastructure issues and coordinate with solution teams on complex cases.
* Help drive continuous improvements.
Safety
* Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and encourage a world‑class safety culture.
* Own safety initiatives and projects to foster a strong safety culture.
Data Center Operations (DCO)
* Diagnose hardware and network problems followed by physical repairs.
* Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
* Perform root‑cause analysis of equipment failures.
* Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required; weight limits are in accordance with regulations.
* Work rotating shifts (morning/late/night) and weekends to maintain the 24/7 data center environment.
* Participate in on‑call rotation to respond to off‑duty emergency calls.
Basic Qualifications
* High school or equivalent diploma.
* Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
* Experience in networking and troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Experience in Linux and networking protocols, such as DNS/DHCP/TCP, and experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting.
