Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Maintenance Engineer - Electrical reports to the Assistant Managers and is responsible for the primary delivery of 1st fix electrical maintenance as requested through the Helpdesk, 'In House' Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules, and the undertaking of designated Health & Safety duties across the full resort. The incumbent is also expected to have knowledge and assist in all other general maintenance tasks as directed by the management team.
* React to requests from the management team and other departments to assess and repair faults related to building systems, including HVAC, lighting, small power, and plumbing issues.
* Install additional electrical circuits.
* Maintain standby generators and life safety systems.
* Undertake and record regular Planned Preventative Maintenance / Ken Fix It Programme.
* Perform health and safety schedules, including monthly emergency lighting testing, tap/shower head descaling, and emergency lighting checks.
* Conduct temperature checks of water systems as specified in site Water Risk Assessments.
* Carry out health and safety testing such as Legionella control, Portable Appliance Testing, and emergency lighting testing.
* Take ownership of designated roles as part of the emergency evacuation team.
* Communicate effectively with the management team to ensure accurate record keeping for reporting purposes.
* Perform any other general tasks relevant to the role to support departmental workflow.
Qualification Standards:
* Must be eligible to work within the UK.
* Must be a time-served Electrician, preferably with completed 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
* Ability to carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is preferred.
* Some understanding of Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning systems.
* Good all-round knowledge of electrical distribution systems.
* Knowledge of system drawings, operating & maintenance manuals, and procedures.
* Ability to use various hand tools, electrical tools, and test equipment.
* Previous Fire Warden training is preferred.
* Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and practices.
