Job title: Early Years Practitioner
Responsible to: Room Supervisor and Nursery Manager
Purpose of the Job:
A high standard of professionalism and enthusiastic commitment is required at Cherubs. This position carries a high level of responsibility for the babies and children's welfare, learning and development and their enjoyment of their time with us. Safeguarding and attention to the individual needs of babies and children are a priority, with each unique child to be cherished, always valued and respected. * Early Years Practitioner: To work as a Key Person and as part of the nursery team under the direction of the Room Supervisor, Curriculum Lead and the Manager.
* To support colleagues in their key person role
* To provide a safe and stimulating environment as a key member of the Cherubs team and deliver high quality care and learning opportunities for children based on their individual needs and interests.
* To communicate professionally and empathically with parents, carers, children's family members and other professionals, promoting inclusive practice.
* To engage in professional development and continuous improvement of skills and practice.
* To support the management team in supporting Cherubs to reach an 'outstanding' grade with Ofsted.
* All staff at Cherubs must work according to the Statutory Framework for Early Years Foundation Stage and Montessori philosophy. Your daily practice must focus on realising the potential in each unique child and support children in developing naturally and confidently at their own pace.
* Modelling good social skills are crucial, as children learn by example. Children's preferences, work and ideas must be valued and respected so that children can learn to use the same approach.
* Participate in the Key Person's system and be responsible for a group of children including monitoring, assessing, recording and reporting on their development and progress. Create good strong bonds with children to enable a high level of well being and involvement resulting in progressive learning.

The days and hours are due to be confirmed apon interview.
Qualifications:
Please ensure you hold a valid Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification before applying for the above position.
