Job Role & Responsibilities
As a contract maintenance engineer, you will support continuous factory operations through effective reactive and planned maintenance. The role also plays a key part in driving site improvements relating to machinery performance, quality, hygiene, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance across site equipment
* Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical breakdowns with urgency
* Deliver planned preventative maintenance to a high standard
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades
* Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime
* Ensure compliance with current electrical and industrial regulations
* Apply RCA techniques to identify root causes and prevent reoccurrence
The Ideal Candidate will have
* Completed an engineering apprenticeship (Electrical & Mechanical)
* NVQ Level 3 or above / ONC / HNC in a relevant engineering discipline
* 18th Edition electrical qualification
* Strong hands-on electrical fault-finding and diagnostic experience
* Experience working in an FMCG or food manufacturing environment (preferred)
* Knowledge of UK and industrial electrical regulations
* PLC diagnostic experience (no programming required)
* A methodical, safety-focused approach to problem solving
