An opportunity has arisen for a full-time Teaching Assistant to work in our Nursery, from 08:30 to 15:00, Monday to Friday. We are seeking a caring and dedicated TA with experience working with young children.


We would like someone:

1. Who has an uncompromising passion, energy, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
2. With an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Early Years Care and Education or a relevant subject as listed in DfE Early Years Qualification Check.
3. With a sound knowledge of the EYFS framework and how this is implemented in practice.
4. With high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
5. With an understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
6. Who is committed to teamwork and a collegiate approach.
7. Who has the ability and determination to inspire and motivate children to achieve highly and enjoy their time in Nursery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrate an informed and efficient approach to teaching and learning by adopting relevant strategies to support the work of the teacher and increase achievement of all pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
2. Promote, support, and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities.
3. Support the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum aimed at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning.
4. Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school’s policies and procedures.
5. Support class teachers in maintaining good order and discipline among pupils, managing behaviour effectively to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
6. Organize and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment.
7. Observe pupil performance and communicate observations to the class teacher.
8. Supervise a class if the teacher is temporarily unavailable.
9. Use ICT skills to enhance pupils’ learning.
10. Undertake any other relevant duties assigned by the class teacher.
11. Assist with lunch and break time supervision of children on a rota basis in accordance with the school’s Playground Supervision Policy.
12. Accompany children on educational visits and outings as required.
13. Contribute to effective assessment and planning by supporting monitoring, recording, and reporting of pupil performance and progress as appropriate.
14. Read and understand lesson plans shared prior to lessons, if available.
