As part of our Fit for the Future strategy, we are continuing to strengthen our Private Markets & Real Assets capability and are recruiting a Portfolio Manager with a focus on legacy private market assets.
This role sits within our Private Markets and Real Assets Investment Team and will play a key part in the oversight, monitoring and ongoing management of assets transitioned from Partner Funds across global property, infrastructure, private credit and private equity.
Working closely with senior colleagues, the role will involve:
* Overseeing and monitoring diverse private market portfolios funds, ensuring alignment with investment objectives
* Leading quarterly reviews of external manager reports and documenting insights for Partner Funds
* Preparing high-quality reporting and commentary across multiple private markets funds asset classes
* Acting as a key point of contact with external fund managers and data providers
* Supporting portfolio strategy analysis and making recommendations to senior decision-makers
* Ensuring assets are managed in line with responsible investment, risk and compliance frameworks
This is an opportunity for an experienced private markets professional to work at institutional scale, contributing to the effective stewardship of long-term assets while helping shape the evolution of our private markets platform.

What you'll be doing:
As our Portfolio Manager, here's an insight into what you'll be getting up to:
* Oversight of private market assets: Monitor and manage holdings across private markets asset classes
* Quarterly reviews: Lead quarterly analysis of reports from external managers, documenting findings and communicating to Partner Funds.
* Reporting: Prepare reporting packs and commentary for Partner Funds across all private market asset classes.
* Meetings & representation: Attend external manager investor meetings (online and in person, with some travel required) to represent LGPS Central.
* Portfolio strategy support: Work with the Private Markets team to analyse portfolio strategies and provide recommendations.
* Presentation preparation: Develop presentations and briefing materials for Partner Fund meetings and committees.
* External liaison: Act as a point of contact with external managers and data providers across property, infrastructure, private credit, and private equity.
* Risk & compliance: Ensure all assets are managed in line with the Company's Risk and Compliance Framework.
* Collaboration: Contribute to a culture of analytical rigour, transparency, and teamwork across the Investment Team.

LGPS Central (LGPSC) Ltd is the FCA regulated asset manager for eight local authority pension funds across the Midlands. LGPSC is jointly owned on an equal shares basis by those Partner Fund, and it is responsible for managing £45bn+ of their assets. Requirements
* Experience in portfolio analysis, monitoring, and reporting within private markets (property, infrastructure, private credit, and/or private equity).
* Strong ability to interpret complex financial and operational reports across multiple asset classes.
* Excellent relationship management skills, particularly in liaising with external managers and clients.
* High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas.
* Strong presentation and communication skills, with ability to convey complex analysis clearly.
* Collaborative mindset with ability to work closely with peers and across teams.
Qualifications:
* Relevant professional qualification (e.g., CFA, CAIA, ACA) or equivalent analytical experience in private markets.
* Degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
* FCA approval requirements may apply depending on regulatory classification
