About The Role
Salary - Up to £65,000 DOE
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager on a permanent basis who will develop, implement and manage a procurement strategy and framework to support the whole organisation.
This is a new role to the organisation and will be instrumental in evolving and refining the procurement strategy, policies, processes and templates, ensuring the processes and controls are adhered to across the organisation.
You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating and managing key suppliers to ensure high performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, as well as involvement in project procurement objectives and requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for purchasing and be experienced in working independently with stakeholders and suppliers. You will have a solid understanding of both the purchasing process (tender, negotiation, and award) and strategic sourcing (market data, supply, change, cost control).
Responsibilities:
* Developing and implementing a procurement strategy/framework
* Support and run tenders, evaluating bids and making recommendations
* Agree and maintain approved supplier list
* Develop strategies to ensure cost savings and meet or exceed performance targets
* Ensure all procurement processes are followed and accurately recorded (policies/templates)
* Analyse data and produce reports and statistics on spending, saving and performance
* Provide procurement advice and guidance to senior stakeholders
* Develop a procurement schedule for long-term contracts
* Ensure all necessary environmental, social and economic policies are considered when selecting suppliers
* Proactively identify and mitigate procurement risks, ensuring continuity of supply
* Interact with various stakeholders, including suppliers, business areas, senior management and the board.
About You
* Proven Procurement experience with a solid understanding of procurement best practices, contract management and supply chain management principles
* Knowledge of the full procurement cycle
* Strong communicator with attention to detail
* Proficient negotiator with strong commercial awareness and influencing skills
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Self-starter who is confident working independently and as part of a team
* Confidence interacting with senior management
* MCIPs would be an advantage
