Key Duties:
* Work with other departments to meet and better production targets, particularly plant output, plant operations, product quality, product cost and department expenditure.
* Enable the shift to keep the plant running at most efficient operating conditions.
* Manage WIP to ensure minimum stock holding and dwell within operational KPIs.
* Liaise with production planning to ensure machine schedule and priority parts are adhered to.
* Report downtimes and put preventative actions in place.
* Communicate with maintenance team to ensure planned maintenance and production priorities are considered.
* Monitor and record floor to floor times against plan.
* Use problem solving techniques to resolve issues and implement improvements.
* Daily housekeeping walk and corrective measures activated.
* Liaise with supporting functions on plan quality, trouble shooting, maintenance and improvements.
* Facilitate daily production meeting(s)
* Produce reports (using a variety of methods) to cover SQCDP.
* Attend and support Shift Manager at meetings. Chair meetings where necessary.
Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge of HSE requirements and demonstrable experience proving ability to apply correctly (essential)
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience with a proven track record of Supervision/Management in a manufacturing setting (essential)
* Minimum of ILM or CMI Level 3 or equivalent supervisory qualifications. (essential)
* Extensive knowledge of Engineering production processes, preferably in Aerospace or Automotive
* Knowledge of quality standards, particularly ISO9001/AS9100
* Ability to coach and train others (essential)
* Demonstrable lean manufacturing skills and experience: can provide a case study example demonstrating driving a process improvement from start to end (essential)
* IT literature – capable with Microsoft Office package and can create excel formulas to manipulate data (essential)
* Experience using ERP systems (essential)
