Role Overview
As PFI Exit Coordinator, you'll play a key role in ensuring Mitie meets all contractual obligations during the transition from PFI arrangements. You'll support the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth handback process that protects operational continuity and asset integrity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and coordinate handback activities in line with PFI contract requirements
2. Liaise with Mitie teams, SPV, and DIO to ensure asset compliance and readiness
3. Maintain handback programme and risk register
4. Ensure accurate documentation (O&M manuals, compliance certificates, maintenance logs)
5. Support condition surveys and lifecycle works
6. Provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders
7. Manage milestones, risks, and dependencies across the exit lifecycle
8. Capture and share lessons learned to support future transitions
What We're Looking For
Essential:
9. Experience with PFI contracts, ideally including expiry/transition phases
10. Eligible for UK Security Check (SC) clearance
11. Strong understanding of PPP models, contract law, and lifecycle obligations
12. Project/programme management experience in secure or defence environments
13. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
14. Ability to interpret technical and contractual documentation
15. Experience with CAFM systems and asset databases
16. Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
17. Familiarity with Cabinet Office/IPA guidance on PFI expiry
18. Professional qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, RICS, IWFM, CIPS)
19. Experience with SPVs or FM providers
20. Strong written and verbal communication skills
21. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
22. Forward-thinking, adaptable, and collaborative approach
Additional Responsibilities
Health & Safety:
23. Follow all Mitie policies and procedures
24. Use PPE and equipment safely
25. Report risks or deficiencies promptly
Information Security:
26. Comply with Mitie's security procedures
27. Report actual or suspected security incidents
