Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Practice Educator to support the growing workforce within the West Wing Clinical Research Centre (WWCRC). This role will lead on education, clinical competency, and workforce development across the unit, supporting staff delivering increasingly complex oncology clinical trials. The successful candidate will coordinate induction and onboarding programmes, deliver teaching and clinical training, support competency assessment, and contribute to improving staff experience, retention, and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
* Demonstrate clinical practice expertise in drug development by working alongside nurses on the WWCRC.
* Assess the development needs of staff nurses and, with the Ward Sister of WWCRC, write a professional development plan to enable them to gain clinical competence in a cancer setting.
* Maintain personal clinical competence, credibility and professional development in line with NMC requirements.
* Participate in Clinical Education Team meetings.
* Participate in interviewing for recruitment activities as required.
* Support other members of the Clinical Education team in the development of newly qualified nurses within the Trust.
Essential Qualifications
* First level registration.
* Post registration oncology qualification at degree level.
* Hold registered mentor qualification.
* Proven experience as a clinical trials nurse in the area of drug development.
* Experience in supervising/facilitating students in practice.
