Psychology Graduate- Autism

Milk Education are recruiting for a purpose-driven, ambitious unqualified Teaching Assistant to join an exceptional SEND School in North Liverpool to work on a full-time basis starting in September.

You’ll be joining an inclusive and supportive school, focused on diversity and promoting a loving academic environment for those with additional needs, specifically ASD, PMLD, and LD.

This is an exciting role for an experienced educator to join a fantastic school to support pupils in reaching their potential!

What You’ll Be Doing in the Role:

1:1 and Group Support: Provide tailored support to students during lessons, including individualised 1:1 support when required, helping them to engage with learning and develop essential skills.

Behaviour and Emotional Support: Support the implementation of positive behaviour strategies, assist students in managing challenging behaviours, and promote emotional regulation and resilience.

Learning and Classroom Assistance: Help adapt and deliver learning materials, support class routines, and ensure an inclusive, engaging environment that meets the diverse needs of all learners.

Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and external professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality support; maintain open, respectful communication with colleagues and families.

Safeguarding and Wellbeing: Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, assist with personal care if required, and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students in line with school policies.

Essential Qualifications:

A degree in Psychology (minimum undergraduate level), with a strong understanding of child development, SEN, and behavioural psychology.

Genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs, particularly autism and learning difficulties, with a patient, empathetic, and child-centred approach.

Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience, with the ability to stay calm and consistent when supporting students with challenging behaviours.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, able to collaborate effectively with teaching staff, therapists, and families.

Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing, with a clear understanding of professional boundaries and the ability to follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
