The Neuromodulation Pain service provides highly specialist nursing care for patients with disorders who are referred to the service for neuromodulation interventions. We are currently seeking a Band nurse to cover a six month secondment.
Neuromodulation specialist nurses work within the pain neuromodulation service. The post will primarily involve working within the pain neuromodulation team, supporting patients through the pathway from referral to implant and follow-up. The team supports patients for the surgical management of chronic pain and spasticity. There will also be some focus on research and audit as the service develops our portfolio of clinical research and data collection.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include:
To actively liaise with the multidisciplinary team and the wider organisation to ensure a seamless pathway of care for service users.
Work autonomously, and take responsibility for the ongoing assessment, care and support of service users using a broad range of highly specialist complex advanced clinical nursing and decision making skills.
This includes providing a follow-up service for the patients comprising of telemedicine clinics and face to face reviews.
Contribute to ongoing service development which has a strong focus on audit, research and evidence based practice.
In conjunction with the multidisciplinary team formulate and evaluate policies, protocols and guidelines to ensure optimal levels of clinical care are sustained and monitored.
All nurses are expected to work across professional and system boundaries, proactively developing and sustaining new partnerships and networks in order to influence and improve health, outcomes and healthcare delivery systems.
