Are you passionate about community engagement and creating meaningful programmes that make a real difference? The St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Activities & Programme Coordinator to lead and deliver a diverse range of activities at our community centre.
About the Role
As our Activities & Programme Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of our centre's operations - developing, organising, and delivering programmes that reflect the needs of the local community. You'll manage volunteers, ensure activities run smoothly and safely, and promote the centre locally and nationally.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and deliver engaging workshops, classes, and activity groups.
* Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and contractors.
* Monitor and evaluate programme success to ensure positive outcomes.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with health & safety and safeguarding policies.
* Represent the centre at networking events and support other areas such as the café and admin when needed.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who is:
* Experienced in coordinating community-based activities.
* A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Organised, creative, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Knowledgeable in safeguarding, health & safety, and volunteer management.
* Passionate about the SVP ethos and values.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* GCSEs (A*-C) in English and Maths or equivalent.
* Experience in the voluntary sector or a learning/training environment.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic IT systems.
Additional Information
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check, including a check of the Children's barred list, due to potential involvement in regulated activities.
