Supply Desk are seeking SEND teaching assistants for a Primary Special Needs School in Southampton
Starting from January 2026 on a long-term contract
Monday – Thursday 08:30 – 4:00
Up to £19, 000 per annuum
About the school:
* A specialist small school for neuro divergent primary pupils
* SEND school working with children from the ages of 5-11
* Offers specialist therapies and lessons so all children can achieve
* Warm and welcoming staff
* Hold values of independence, inclusion and respect
Job Description:
* Some experience with children with additional needs preferred (SEMH, ASC, ADHD etc)
* Desire to work throughout Key stage 1 and 2
* Working with small groups delivering interventions such as Reading, Maths, Literacy, life skills and social skills or 1:1 with specific pupils and supporting their needs
* Full time role with the opportunity of a permanent contract
* Location: Southampton
* Start Date: January 2026
* Contract Length: Long Term – Potential to become permanent
* Hours: Part time 32.5
Individual Profile:
* A nurturing and caring nature
* GCSE Maths and English to A- C grade
* Experience of working with children/young people
* Passionate, enthusiastic and proactive individual
* Adaptable and sensitive when dealing with challenging situations
* First Aid trained or be willing to be trained
