Join to apply for the Consultant Psychiatrist - Old Age role at NHS Scotland.
CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST IN OLD AGE PSYCHIATRY based at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline. Hospital Inpatient Mental Health Service (1 post). Permanent appointment. Full time (10 PAs).
This is an exciting opportunity for a committed clinician to join our dedicated team within NHS Fife working in old age psychiatry in West Fife Inpatient Mental Health Team, covering West Fife. This is a full time post (10 sessions) with close working relationships with the OA community MH team also in Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.
The candidate must be able to work in a collaborative way with other professionals and agencies. This post is full time; however, consideration will be given to candidates to work flexibly.
The post holder will be supported by a cohesive and collegiate group of clinicians, and will participate in CPD and peer supervision. Consultant peer groups meet regularly and there are regular educational events as part of our in-house programme.
We are always striving to improve our service and we seek an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed individual to lead and manage change. An area of particular focus over the next couple of years will be the development of the non medical workforce given the medical staffing challenges across the United Kingdom. A keen interest in supporting multi-disciplinary team colleagues’ professional development would be invaluable.
We welcome discussions around proposed job descriptions to ensure roles match our Consultants’ interests, experience and talents – please don’t hesitate to ask about alternative ways of working. Our ambition is to have the right person doing the right things at the right time, allowing us to provide a high quality service to the Older People of Fife.
