An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Fellow to complement our established and experienced Breast Surgery team.
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust houses a purpose-built breast unit where radiologists and surgeons work jointly to ensure a one stop service as is possible. The unit has an excellent reputation for high quality patient care and we are proud of the first-class breast imaging service the Trust provides covering the population of Bradford area and neighbouring areas of Airedale, Dewsbury, Halifax and Huddersfield.
Job post is full time and fixed term for 12 months.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be exclusively working for the breast surgery department and will not have any out of hours on call commitments. The successful applicant is expected to function at a CT1 level and is ideal for those doctors who have completed FY2 training and have not gained a placement for higher surgical training. It is also suitable for those doctors who want to gain entry into the NHS after a career break. The successful candidate will be provided with training and will mainly be expected to work with Consultants and the Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) in OSBC. They are also expected to assist in surgery and gain experience in managing breast abscess / mastitis, clerking and preparing the patients for theatre as well as post-operative management. The post holder will have the ability to support and carry out clinical research and audit.
