OPERATIONS ASSISTANT – 6 month contract, July – December 2025. Cave Veterinary Specialists, a veterinary referral hospital are recruiting for an organised individual to join them as an Operations Assistant. This role, working within the client care team, supports operational areas across the hospital, ensuring that our clinical teams have what they need to help all of our patients. The role also enables our client care team to support our clients to have a positive experience. You will have the opportunity to enhance your skills in a busy hospital whilst working alongside a supportive team. We are looking for someone who can engage with others and can take responsibility under the guidance and supervisory support of a manager You will work within our team to contribute to a positive and effective working environment. A key responsibility will be to support reception, and to help maintain correct stock levels and support the administration of client’s bills. This is a full-time role, working 40 h ours per week on a fixed term contract starting July 2025. Stock Management : Ordering of clinical supplies and medications in line with purchasing polic ies. Maintenance of stock areas, date checking and receiving/checking deliveries. Coordination of scheduled routine, daily, weekly and quarterly stock checks and audits. Updating team s on any changes and updates regarding ava i l a bility of medications and consumables. Facilities support: Supporting the scheduling of maintenance jobs, and scheduling of contractors. Undertake inspections, as required, in line with our Health & Safety daily activities. Support with in spections on equipment, general hospital facilities and raising repair jobs for clinical equipment. Support with weekly facilities testing requirements, including a weekly fire safety tests and the maintenance of first aid equipment. Keep up to date records. Client Care and administrative support (as required) : Liaising with clients, speaking directly over the phone and face to face to provide an outstanding client experience. Liaising with referring veterinary practices supporting the referral process for patients, updating actions and all ensuring all information is complete for case acceptance. Supporting the client financial journey, ensuring accurate and timely completion of records and clients bills are updated as required. Updating client and referring veterinary practice data on the practice management (booking) system accurately and timely.
