Job Title: HR/People Director Location: Milton Keynes (Hybrid: 3 days in the office) Package : Up to £95,000 Benefits Commercial Head. Charitable Heart. Leadership That Changes Lives. This is a role for a leader who brings professional rigour, deep expertise, and a compassionate heart to the Executive table. You will be joining a successful, values-driven Executive Team where the vision and mission are at the heart of every decision, ensuring a positive impact on the lives of disabled people. I am partnering exclusively with a sector-leading national charity to appoint their People Director. This is a newly created role, reporting directly to the CEO, designed to complete a highly collegiate and ambitious leadership team. The Context: Proud of the Past, Ambitious for the Future. This is an organisation of scale (c.1,800 employees) and complexity, defined by its purpose. They are incredibly proud of their heritage, operating with integrity to ensure that people live the lives they choose. This is not a turnaround role - the foundations here are strong, and the team is capable. However, the organisation is not standing still; they are relentlessly ambitious for the future. As a "proud third-sector provider," they are determined to change the narrative of the sector, moving beyond traditional support to enabling limit-less potential and genuine empowerment. The Role: Evolution and Executive Leadership This is a true executive appointment. You will not just lead the People Function; you will hold collective responsibility for the success of the entire charity. Reporting directly to the CEO and working in close partnership with the Executive Team, you will contribute to shaping the wider organisational direction. Currently, the functional areas within the HR remit sit across different areas of the Executive structure. Your remit is to bring these solid, specialist teams together under your leadership, unifying them into a single, cohesive People Directorate. You will lead this evolution with a style that aligns with the organisations values - ensuring that the Directorate is impactful, innovative and committed to excellence at each touchpoint. Requirements The Leadership Style: Facilitative and Authentic: The right leadership style is just as important as the technical skillset. The Executive Team operates as a genuine partnership - supportive, open, and low on ego. We are looking for a Facilitative Leader - someone who understands that in a mission-driven environment, influence is earned by listening and connecting, not by issuing edicts from a head office. Risk-Aware, Not Risk-Averse: You bring the professional excellence to manage significant budgets and compliance, but you never let process stifle progress. A True Connector: You lead with warmth, accessibility, and optimism, embedding a culture where you do things with people, not to them. The Candidate Profile: We are looking for an experienced People/HR Director, or an exceptional 'Head of' ready to take their step up into an executive role. You will likely have managed people functions in organisations of similar scale and understand the nuances of a dispersed workforce. Whether your background is in the charity sector or the corporate world, you are driven by the opportunity to apply your professional expertise in a context where the end result is meaningful impact to people. If you are a People/HR Leader looking to add significant value to an organisation that is literally changing lives then please apply. Benefits Base salary is up to £95,000 per annum, dependant on experience plus benefits. I am managing this search exclusively, on a retained basis and as such, each application will be personally and carefully reviewed. Please note: You must have the legal right to work in the UK
