We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and resilient Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and support pupils in achieving their full potential in both learning and personal development. About the Role as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant: Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, adapting learning to meet individual needs. Assist teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons and creating a positive learning environment. Support pupils with a range of needs, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties. Use strategies such as sensory activities, play-based learning, and visual supports to encourage engagement and progress. Help pupils through times of dysregulation, promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and independence. Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and parents/carers to track progress and contribute to individual learning plans. The Successful SEN Teaching Assistant Will Have: A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEN. Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills. The ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenging behaviour. Experience of working with SEN pupils is desirable, though training will be provided.
