Apprentice HR Employee Relations Administrator

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust offers this apprenticeship opportunity to join our supportive Human Resources team.

Main duties
* Provide administrative support to the Employee Relations service for over 14,000 Trust employees.
* Arrange complex meetings and coordinate hearing packs.
* Handle first‑line queries by phone and manage a generic email inbox.
* Maintain and update employee records using the NHS Electronic Staff Record (ESR) system.
* Use Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and touch‑typing, to prepare documentation.
* Assist in administering key employee relations processes using the ER tracking system.
Person Specification
* Good standard of general education (e.g., 5 GCSEs including English and Maths or equivalent).
* NVQ3, A Level, or equivalent qualification in a business‑related subject, or equivalent experience.
* Recent experience in a complex administrative environment.
* Previous customer‑facing role.
* Track record of meeting objectives.
* Ability and willingness to study for a minimum of Level 3 CIPD; Level 3 CIPD optional.
* Previous experience administering HR issues and in a human resources environment.
* Experience using an ER tracking system and the NHS ESR HR and Payroll system.
* Familiarity with NHS conditions of service and Trust policies and procedures.
Eligibility and Funding
These roles are funded by the Government Apprenticeship Scheme and do not attract visa sponsorship.
Suitable candidates must have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least the previous three years and have permission to live in the UK, or hold pre‑settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme.
