Gloucester Rugby, formed in 1873, are a Premiership rugby team based at Kingsholm Stadium in the city of Gloucester.
The Sales Ledger & Credit Controller will be responsible for managing the end-to-end sales ledger process, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, maintaining strong financial records, and supporting the effective collection of receivables. This role is crucial in safeguarding the company's cash flow, minimising bad debt exposure, and providing financial insight to management.
The position requires a balance of technical accounting skills, analytical ability, and interpersonal confidence to liaise effectively with customers, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
* Production of sales invoices in accordance with schedules and contracts. Ensuring accuracy and timely issuance.
* Ensuring VAT is correctly declared on sales invoices.
* Recording bank receipts and ensuring accurate allocation to the corresponding invoices.
* Reconciliation of sales ledger account queries and liaising with customers as required.
* Ensuring accuracy of new and existing customer records.
* Management of the credit control function as required to ensure timely collection of all amounts due.
* Maintaining appropriate electronic and paper records including invoices, statements and remittance advice.
* General administration of the sales ledger.
* Supporting the Finance Manager.
* Any other duties reasonably requested by the management of Gloucester Rugby
