About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at a renowned luxury boutique hotel and restaurant set within the stunning Somerset countryside.
This role is ideal for a passionate and driven chef with a strong background in fresh, seasonal British cuisine and experience working within quality-led kitchens. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional food standards while supporting the day-to-day running of a busy and highly respected kitchen operation.
The kitchen champions locally sourced produce, seasonal menus, and a farm-to-table philosophy, making this an excellent opportunity for a chef who is passionate about ingredient-led cooking and refined yet relaxed dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities Support the Head Chef with the daily running of the kitchen
Lead and motivate junior chefs during prep and service
Ensure consistently high standards across all dishes and sections
Assist with menu development using fresh, seasonal ingredients
Maintain excellent food hygiene, HACCP, and kitchen safety standards
Support stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
Deliver smooth and efficient service within a fast-paced environment
Uphold the kitchens commitment to quality, creativity, and consistency
Ideal Candidate Profile Current or recent experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef
Background in high-quality restaurants, boutique hotels, or gastropubs
Passion for seasonal British cuisine and premium produce
Strong leadership and communication skills
Calm and organised approach during busy services
Ability to mentor and develop junior members of the brigade
High standards of presentation, cleanliness, and professionalism
A genuine passion for hospitality and exceptional food
